Policies

We reserve the right to amend, cancel or alter these services at our sole discretion. The use of this website is governed by the policies, terms and conditions set forth below in this user agreement. Please read this agreement carefully. Your registration, your use of this website and your placement of a transaction and/or an order indicates your acceptance of these policies, terms and conditions. If you do not accept our terms then do not use our website. We may amend this agreement at any time by posting the amended terms on our website, except as stated below, the amended terms will automatically be effective immediately after they are posted.

Registration

Our services are available only to registered users who can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. Our services are not available to minors. If you do not qualify, please do not attempt to use our services. Registration requires the completion of the user registration form with accurate and complete contact names, principal address, and e-mail address. Your use of selloldphone.co.uk may be terminated or suspended by us if you do not comply with this Agreement, our policies and procedures, or for any other reason we determine necessary, it is our sole discretion, to protect us and other users of the website.

Transaction Acceptance Policy

The shipment of your phone confirms your acceptance of our website offer price. Your receipt of transaction confirmation only signifies that selloldphone.co.uk will pay up to full value if the phone received by us meets our terms and conditions as outlined below in our gradings under the your mobile phone section. If they do not then your phone will be graded accordingly by our engineers, we may at times process a counter offer for a working phone due the the condition of the handset, without the need to downgrade the handset to none working grade.

No trade over 250 items or £5,000 will be accepted online in any one transaction. Unless agreed by selloldphone.co.uk in advance EG A designated partner, affiliate or charity.

Shipping

selloldphone.co.uk will not be liable for any damages or loss of shipment during transit. It is the responsibility of the user to insure or provide the correct packaging for delivery confirmation prior to shipping. We also recommend you use either recorded or special delivery for valuable handsets, Please note any handsets received without any details included will be very hard to trace and we will hold these for five business working days for any claims. Any claims identified after this period will be obsolete and the handsets will be recycled.

Your mobile phone

By submitting an order through our website, you warrant that the phone complies with these terms.

Your mobile phone must match the make and model in the sale order. It will be graded by us as either, Working, Grade B, Non-Working or Beyond Economical Repair (BER):

• Working is defined as:
• Full working order including a battery, battery cover and charger
• The phone must turn on and off
• The phone must be fully functional
• The screen must be working and intact
• The phone must be complete with no missing or faulty parts
• Touch screen phones should be in pristine condition (as new with no scratches at all and must included stylus and charger otherwise they will be grade b)

• Grade B is defined as:
• Up to 70% of working value depending on cosmetic condition

• Non-Working is defined as:
• Badly damaged casing needs re-housing
• Scratched screens
• None original casings
• Cracks or missing pixels
• Flaking paintwork or erosion
• Broken earpiece/ microphone/ loudspeakers
• Handset back/battery cover missing or broken
• Does not power up
• Broken/missing aerial
• Faulty keypad
• Pin or security locked
• Very poor condition

• Beyond Economical Repair (BER) is defined as:
• Broken/Cracked/Snapped hinges
• Crushed or water-damaged
• LCD cracked/bleeding/does not work, missing or faulty
• Unresponsive touch screen
• Handset operating system missing or corrupt
• SIM unable to be removed
• SIM Gate broken or missing
• Memory card unable to be removed
• Faulty battery terminals
• Scratched touch screens
• Cracked screens
• Re-programmed missing IMEI numbers
• Broken LCD ribbons
• Broken cameras
• Missing Buttons
• SIM card holder missing or faulty
• Water damaged
• Logged by Immobilise/on the IMEI blacklist register
• Counterfeit / copied handsets
• Barred by a network

Payment

We agree to pay up to the full list price for Working phones if they include battery and charger and any touch screen pens or styluses, batteries must not be swollen causing battery covers not to close as this will be a grade none working. We agree to pay a reduced list price for Non-Working phones. We are unable to pay for BER phones receive under any circumstances, however we will do our best to utilise some parts of these when you recycle your mobile and therefore ultimately improve the environment. BER phones will be recyclable only with zero cash value.

We endeavour to make payment within seven working days from verification of the handset, when you recycle mobile phones. This may be subject to change during busy periods of the year again EG xmas time.

If a phone fails to meet our terms and conditions we may have to downgrade the phone accordingly. We will either issue a counter payment in the event that the phone is downgraded from Working to a lower grade, or in the event that the phone is graded as a BER phone we will be unable to offer you any price. You will be notified by post. In the rare event that a phone is sent back to the sender an administration charge of £10 will be applicable to cover all packaging, postage, recorded delivery fees and holding costs which will we hold and honour for seven full business working days from contact, if no contact is made after this counter offer expires we will then process the offer as accepted accordingly.

It is the users responsibility to ensure the correct details are provided for online payments, sell old phone are not responsible for any payments issued to a incorrect bank account, the user should make contact with their bank in order to rectify payment and sell old phone will assist in every way possible. Please note - any cheques cashed will be deemed as accepted and the contract fulfilled.

Pricing

Please Note there is a five pound degraded charge if the handset does not include a charger or ten pounds if the handset does not include a battery, Iphones and Nokia 8800's are degraded by fifteen pounds if the chargers are not included due to the costs of these, if they do not include both then they will be graded none working, touch screen phones must have stylus, charger and battery if they do not have all three then they will be graded as grade none working, if they do not have stylus and charger they will be graded as grade b, please ensure you remember to include these upon dispatch of your package. For all prices, products and offers, we reserve the right to make adjustments due to changing market conditions, product availability, and other extenuating circumstances. Expiration of all trade offers will expire fourteen days from the date of trade confirmation. All confirmed trade pricing will be honoured within the fourteen day period regardless of current pricing for your mobile phone recycling

SIM Cards, Airtime Contracts & Phone Data

SIM Cards - Please remove SIM cards before sending us your mobile. Any SIM cards received by us are non-returnable. (We will dispose of them appropriately.) We accept no liability in the event that any phone that has been sent with its SIM card lost in which charges are then incurred. You shall continue to be responsible for such charges. Airtime Contracts - It is your responsibility for cancelling any airtime contract linked to each handset. We are not responsible for any call costs arising before, or after, receipt of your handset, or arising from any other circumstances whatsoever.

Phone Data - By sending your phone to us, you agree to release us from all and any claims, losses or damages with respect to the phone, any data stored or contained therein or on any media used in conjunction with the phone (whether in the form of personal details, SMS, photos, songs or other data. We accept no responsibility in relation to the security, protection, confidentiality or use of such data and it is your responsibility to ensure that such data is removed from the phone prior to you sending it to us.

Lost or Stolen Phones

It is your responsibility to ensure selloldphone.co.uk does not receive phones with IMEI numbers reported lost or stolen. Should we receive phones that have been reported lost or stolen, then the phone in question will not be returned to the customer and the transaction will become null and void. Again please note that no reported phones will be returned.

Consent from parent or guardian if under 18

If you are under 18 years of age, you must ensure that you have obtained your parent’s or guardian’s consent to sell your phone to us for the sum indicated via our website.

We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a contract that is caused by events outside our reasonable control or due to our compliance with any applicable laws or regulations.
